JOHN TERJESEN

Just received word that John Terjesen passed away after a brief illness. He played with us for a long time both on Tuesdays  and Thursdays, but not so much the last few years do to health issues. John was true gentleman who loved playing golf he will be missed.

    There will be a viewing for John at Marine Park Fueral Home 3024 Quentin Rd. Brooklyn on Thursday April 19, 2018 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9. In lieu of a church service there will be a memorial service at 8PM onThursday at the funeral home.

Pelican Point Golf

So far we have about 36 golfers signed up for the outing on March 13, 2018 in Venice Fla. Pelican Point Golf Club.   Anyone interested in playing give Kevin Dolan a call (917-836-9923) all are welcome. Last year we had over 40 golfers from all over South West Florida, and as far as Jacksonville, so give Kiven a call if you or your friends are interested.., last year was a great day.

Pelicant Point has club rentals  for about $20 a round we’re not sure how many sets they have so it might not be a bad idea to call them and reserve a set if you will be needing them. I’ll try and find the number and post it

WINTER MEETING

18 Sandtrapers showed up at Jameson's last thursday for a little winter get together. Not much was accomplished a few topics were discussed like HC's, moving up to senior tees, play it where it lies on hills or off hills, and who's going to Venice for the Sandtraps South West Florida Golf tournament on March 13, 2018. A few men were missing from the meeting most notebly Mr. Anonymous?? I hope he's making the trip south.

  Congratulations to Jim Woods got a hole in one on the 14th par 3 on Cedar Hammocks golf course. 

Southwest Florida Golf Outing

Tee times have been secured again this year at Pelicant Point Golf Club in Venice Florida for the 13th. Of March that’s a Tuesday. Spread the word anyone going to be in Florida around then and would like to play just let us know.

Don’t forget Jamesons tomorrow at 4pm if  anyone is still around. More information on Venice golf will follow.

PLAY READY GOLF

One of our members was good enough to forward me the rules of ready golf.  Makes sense to me if every one follows the READY GOLF Rules it should  go a long way in speeding up our rounds. The rule are simple you just have to make a conscious effort to follow them.
