 Bob passed away yesterday in Florida please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prays./. No details of his arrangements are available at this time.. I think his wife and family would like to have a memorial for him in Rockaway some time in the near future, we'll post any details when they become available..

 Just received word that Bob Walsh long time member of the sand traps, now living in Florida, is in the ICU in a hospital on the East cost of Florida. Please keep him in your prays and thoughts. Bob has been battling cancer for the last year, hopefully this is just a setback and he is back on the golf course soon. We will post updates and any other info as they become available.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Thank you governor Cuomo our Christmas party has been canceled do to the lockdown starting Monday imposed by  little Adolf Cuomo. We will try to have a kickoff party for the start of 2021 season in May if we are aloud out by then?

 This will be our last scheduled golf day for the 2020 season. Kevin Murphy has invited everyone back to Jameson"s after golf and as usual the first round is on him, His generosity is limitless! At the meeting in Jameson"s after much discussion a few decisions were made and voted on by the payers who showed up.

1.    All par threes will be played from the white tees.*

2.    Playing from the Gold tee will add three strokes to your score. [MARINE PARK ONLY]

3.    For the time being  we will not be playing for points. We'll see how things go, right now it's to involved to collect and pay out since we can"t get the tee times  together.

4.    We will continue to collect score cards for the purpose of maintaining HC's

5.     Mike has put up his credit card for tee times if you use one of his times  he must be reimbursed
he would like a Venmo payment instead of cash. If you don't know what that is you can download the app from the App Store and set it up, works great.

6.     In lieu of low net and skins points we will collect 5$ a round per player to cover cost of flowers, Christmas gifts ect.

* Hole in one is still in play but must be from white tees. If you are not in it see John Tansey he will let you know how much a buy in is. I think this is our 5th year at 10 dollars a year.


It might be easier to take a picture of you foursomes score card and send it to Joe if you don't see him at the course.

LOU SHERIFF'S BROTHER JAMES SHERIFF PASSED AWAY RECENTLY PLEASE KEEP LOU AND HIS FAMILY  IN YOUR THOUGHTS.

A WAKE IS BEING HELD AT JORDENS FUNERAL HOME IN ISLAND PARK FRIDAY 2 TO 4PM AND 7 TO 9 PM THERE WILL BE A MASS SATURDAY JUNE 27, 2020 AT ST. MARY'S  IN LONG BEACH.

This Thursday June 25,2020 Forest Park you have to make your own tee time with a credit card online for each foursome..So get-together and make up a foursome or two some go to golfnyc2.ezlinksgolf.com look for Forest Park in Woodhaven. You have to open an account with user name and pass word, then put in your credit card info. I just made a tee time at 8:24 AM for  Thursday June 25, 2020.  It takes a little time to figure out but I'm sure you guys can handle it..Good luck hope to see you Thursday.

Our condolences to Mike Lee and his family on the passing of his mother in law Roseleen Murtagh.

Tom Cleary is on the mend after a brief stay in the hospital he'll be back in action in time for opening day in May witch is looking like May 7, 2020 8:00 am tee at Marine Park.

The Rockaway Sandtraps 2020 schedule will follow as soon as I can figure out how to get on this page.
